There are ~248,000 public schools in the country.
The median wage for a police officer in the U.S. is $61,270.
Annual revenue of gun and ammunition manufacturing industry for private sales (non-military, non-export) $1,500,000.00 profit
SO, we need, at bare minimum, just for salaries; $15,194,960,000 – add what??? 40% for administrative, training, benefits, etc??? (I think I’m probably low on that) – so now we’re talking $21,271,824,000.00.
SOOOOO – Even if we add a 1400% tax to all firearms sales (as if!), that is still only enough money to pay for a SINGLE police officer at every school in the country. How many cops do we need to protect a single school???? Depend on the school of course, but most of the schools around here… as in NONE… are not one room shared shacks.
That’s not nothing, but it’s damned close to it.
And it’s not going to happen.
FOR FAKS SAKE, we apparently can’t even pay for Meals on Wheels so old and infirm people can eat once in a while… Or help the poor with heating oil so they don’t die in winter….
